Terrorist Troubles.

Validity: All nations with defence spending

A vicious civil war in a neighbouring nation between government forces and anti government guerillas is threatening to spill over the border. Frightened citizens in @@NAME@@ are demanding their government do something.

[option]"We must support our neighbour's government forces and help put an end to this murderous rampage once and for all", says @@RANDOMNAME@@, a leading militarist, firmly. "These guerillas are nothing more than terrorists. They've slaughtered thousands of innocent civilians in their own nation, and we must act now to stop them doing the same in ours. I say we send our army in immediately".
[effect]protests have broken out all over the nation in response to high military casualties

[option]"Freedom fighters are not terrorists", declares @@RANDOMNAME@@, an anti government activist. "These poor souls are fighting for freedom from a tyrannical regime. The civilian deaths are a sad but necessary part of the struggle. We must aid the guerillas by sending them food, medical supplies and money to hire mercenaries to boost their forces, and if our army does go in, then it must fight on the right side. The only terrorists in that nation are the government".
[effect]@@NAME@@ has become an international pariah for funding terrorism

[option]"Why should our soldiers die fighting another nations war", snaps @@RANDOMNAME@@, an isolationist. "I say we round up all these refugees that have flooded into our nation, send them straight back home and close our border. That should keep our nation safe from terrorists or anyone else. I don't care if they're going back to certain death. Why should our taxpayers have to fork out to feed and clothe them? This conflict is none of our business, and we shouldn't get involved".
[effect]soft hearted citizens are risking prison to hide refugees from the authorities

[option]"Terrorists shmerrorists. Who cares which group is the good, the bad or the ugly in this conflict," gushes @@RANDOMNAME@@, an arms dealer. "This is a golden opportunity for us to all get rich. We'll just sell top class arms to both sides, then sit back and watch them blow each other to kingdom come. Our nation will be safe because neither side will want to attack their supplier, and we make heaps of @@CURRENCY@@s at the same time.
[effect] reports of massive casualties are filtering in from a neighbouring nation

I promised myself after my last effort that I wouldn't try writing another issue, but the idea for this one came into my mind and I couldn't help myself.

I liked the issue although in parts it was similiar to the 'Request For Military Aid' issue. Good though.

I thought the last option was a nice touch.

Darn, I don't want to submit an issue that is similar to an existing one. I can't remember ever getting one about military aid. Probably have, but just don't remember it.

It is a bit similar. I do like the interesting twist though, especially the last option: maybe it could be more about that (arms trading)?

might be lacking an opinion about that you go in and mediate between the parties

Yes, too similar to an issue we've already got.
