Good issue although the spam bit is similiar to an issue already made. However I don't really understand option two 'government doesn't work', maybe it's just me but I don't think its clear what the option does.

The nation name macro is @@NAME@@ not @@NATION@@.
Isn't broadband just one word?

I read option 2 to mean that the government should stay out of services like this because it is inefficient - leave things to the private sector. In other words, broadband access wouldn't be free to everyone.
Option 3, you misspelled 'government'.
Social equality increases should be part of the stats for options 1 and 3, if free broadband is available for everyone.
Perhaps for option 1, the economy should go down, as people are spending so long online they'll be less productive? Just an idea.

I'd venture to say it's the opposite. Faster internet would mean 1) that they would spend less time online, because the internet doesn't take as much time and 2) that internet-based companies would operate faster. Probably IT industry would go up on those too.

I was just going by the [effect] for that option - people often spend at least 6 hours online per day. But, yeah, you have a point.

Can anybody think of a better effect for option one? Preferably one that is funny and somewhat negative.

Option 2 lets the private sector handle services without government funding. If unclear can anyone offer ways to phrase it better?

Thanks for the comments.

Broadband is one word and I think IT industry would increase because logically more people would be buying things online, using web services etc.

Umm...@@NAME@@'s beaches are deserted as people surf the internet instead? It made me laugh anyway...

Slang term for broadband. Narrowband is a thin pipe, broadband is a phat-pipe.

Can the mods actually determine whether nations meet that condition for 'validity'? It seems to depend more on RP than on stats...

There are other computer issues where you can ban the internet and computers.

[option] "We need a new program running the Internet!" Writes an acclaimed writer, @@RANDOMNAME@@ in an Information Tech Magazine "Broadband is the past. We must create a fast, free, powerful program running the Internet! So we must move on, with some tax of course!"
[effect] Project Internet3 is the pride of @@NAME@@ after destroying Broadband.
[stats] Information Technology becomes popular, economy increases dramatically, tax increases 4%, intelligence increases

How about that?

Good but would you add in as an extra option or remove an option to make way for it?

Okay, fair enough: Evidently my nations don't get those issues frequently enough for them to have lodged in my memory...
