Extremism all over

I've been doing some road now with my nation, and I must say I can only think that most of issues are really bad...

Now, really, do you expect to answer questions like "what should we do with more and more skaters on the road?" with "kill them all", "ban skating", or " make skating comulsory"??

On average, I'd say about 90% of the issues I've seen start from something not too bad (yes, not too bad, I didn't even say good), and end up in choices that are utterly ridiculous or extremist to say the least.

I know this is supposed to be a game, and not necessarily realistic, but this is too much...

I don't want to kill people over 65, I don't want to make skating compulsory, I don't want to make a TV show of foreigners trying to get in, I don't want to ban beauty contests, I don't want to ban cars or bicycles, I don't want to have people have free drugs... The list could go on for long...

This is all so crappy!

You could always just dismiss everything

Why not just accept the fact that the issues are whacked out and act on them? If you ever became a political leader in RL, you could never do any of those things, so do them while you can!

Then why should my nation spend no money on healthcare simply because it won't kill old people, and unborn infants? That's ridiculous, to be honest. But it's the way the game is, so.

Still, if you object to a lack of a certain type of issue (such as moderate ones)... submit some yourself. Easier than complaining, and more fun, I'm sure! :)

You'd almost think it was intentional...

Why is my nation so weird?

Everything is exaggerated a little. Well, okay, a lot. Your decisions affect your nation very strongly, so your country might seem like a more extreme version of what you were aiming for. Unless you have radical politics. In which case you probably think nothing's wrong.

My decision had unintended consequences!

Yep, that'll happen. For one thing, see "Why is my nation so weird?" above. For another, pretty much every decision you make will involve a trade-off of some kind. It's kind of an exercise in choosing the best of a bunch of bad options. You might find this frustrating, especially if you're the kind of person who thinks the solutions to all the world's problems are obvious.
