School Bus causes Great fuss

Valid for all nations with an education budget over 0%
Not valid for nations which have banned cars/fossil fuel vehicles

After a horrific accident involving an old overcrowded school bus and a car left several children badly injured, parents are demanding action.

[option]"These buses are nothing but death traps," yells @@RANDOMNAME@@, a senior member of the PTA. "They need to be replaced. We need more buses to cope with the numbers of children using them. They should all have mandatory seatbelts and airbags. Air-conditioning, a water cooler and piped music would be good too. We don't care how much it costs the bus companies. Our kids deserve the best. Those fat cats should be made to bring their vehicles up to standard, after all they are transporting our most precious possessions. I'm sure the taxpayers won't mind helping to cover the costs."
[effect]the nation struggles under the burden of the new school buses tax

[option]"You're not taking that bunch of loonies seriously I hope," roars @@RANDOMNAME@@, owner of the largest bus company in @@NAME@@. "Do you have any idea how much it would cost to replace our entire school bus fleet, let alone add all those luxuries. As it is our school buses are running at a loss because its free transport. Why do you think we are using our oldest, most clapped out vehicles. How about this offer, we'll buy new luxury buses, but it will cost parents a lot of @@currency@@s in fares per child every year. If they want the little darlings to get special treatment, then they'd better be prepared to pay through the nose for it. A little corporate welfare from the government to get the ball rolling on this project won't go astray either."
[effect]parents have to take second jobs to afford new school bus fares

"If parents home schooled their children, then this terrible accident would never have happened," says @@RANDOMNAME@@, a child safety advocate. "School buses are just one of the dangers our children face attending public schools. Do you know how much damage one child can inflict on another with a sharpened pencil? You should abolish all outside schooling and force parents to do their jobs and educate their children themselves, while keeping them safely at home. Of course there is the problem of the child not getting a proper education from unqualified parent teachers, but an under educated future workforce is a small price to pay. If that doesn't convince you, just think of all the @@currency@@s the government will save not having to fund schools or pay teachers."
[effect]out of work teachers have started carrying signs that say ‘will tutor for food’

[option]"Why waste time educating children," roars @@RANDOMNAME@@, an army colonel. "Just put them straight into our glorious nation’s armed services. We can teach them everything they need to know. That will save anyone having to waste valuable @@CURRENCY@@s on improving school buses, and save the kids from being turned into sniveling cowardly traitors by soft soap parents. We can teach these young soldiers from an early age to be totally loyal and ruthless killing machines. If the parents don't like it, tough. They don't own their children, you do."
[effect]all children enter a military boarding school at the age of 6

This is my latest issue writing attempt. Am hoping to get some advice on ways to improve it from those more experienced in writing these than I am :).

To those that will mention the fact there are no stats, thats because I'm very unsure of them, and decided to not include them.

Some possible stats:
option 1: Taxes up, safety up.
option 2: Taxes up, happiness down.
option 3: Education down, civil rights down, economy down, tax down.
option 4: Army up, tax up (not sure about that - less on education, more on military...), civil rights down, economy down.
