Just a quick preface, for the longest time, my taxes have been at 0%, and I make lot's of pro-business decisions that I know for a fact would otherwise lower taxes still, meaning they are pretty well into the ground.
So last night, I received the issue about flag burning. I took option 3 to ban it, as well as the option to boost education funding on the issue Budget Time: Accountants Excited (I believe it's titled, and I know this issue doesn't bounce up taxes very much, maybe a point or two), and my taxes have went from 0% for probably the last 6 months to 21%. Now, that's a kind of extreme bounce for one issue. Once I had an issue that bumped them up 7% and I thought that was way to much, but this is just insane. There is no way a country is going to see its national spending shoot up because it bans flag burning enough to warrent a 20ish% increase in taxes.
Is this perhaps a typo and it's only supposed to be a 2% bounce? That would make sense and be reasonable, currently, it's total crap the way it is. If it is supposed to be that way, it's clearly slanted as a way to punish dictatorships enough that they reconsider the whole thing.
