[name] Powerhouse Partnership

[description] The regional economic titan is approaching @@NAME@@ about constructing a free trade agreement. This has prompted numerous reactions from different groups.

[validity] Everyone

[variables] Economy, Industries, Employment (and conversely, crime), Taxes, attitude of population.

[option] "This is an exciting new opportunity for @@NAME@@," says libertarian economist @@RANDOMNAME@@. "We'd be able to effectively merge our economy with a much larger and more powerful one, creating thousands of new jobs. The benefits far outweigh any costs."
[effect] the nation is overrun with massive international corporations
[stats] economy increases, industries are weakened, unemployment decreases, crime decreases, taxes slightly increase, happiness decreases

[option] "This is a travesty!" shouts anti-globalization activist @@RANDOMNAME@@. "All that's going to happen is that our workers will be enslaved in sweatshops making cheap clothes and toys for exploitative multi-nationals! If anything, we need to increase tarriffs so we can protect our workers and raise new revenue."
[effect] the government is isolated by its protectionist policies
[stats] economy decreases, taxes decrease

[option] "Hold on, now," cautions business leader @@RANDOMNAME@@. "If we go head on into this free trade thing it will hurt our home-grown industries. However, we cannot pass up this opportunity to enter new markets. I say you enter into an agreement, but offer subsidies to national industries that would be adversely effected by international competition."
[effect] the government heavily subsidizes business in the face of foreign competition
[stats] economy increases, industries greatly strengthened, unemployment decreases, crime decreases, taxes increase greatly

I like it a lot because all the effects are bad, something very few writers seem to like to do. But another option or two wouldn't hurt.

I like it, every option has a "bad" and "good" effect, I also think we need more economy affecting issues, this would be a great one to put in the game.

Not bad, man, not bad. The only thing I'd add is a little more humorous creativity to make it stand out; the mods and players like their issues to have at least a hint of silliness. Then again, maybe I'm influenced by my being a sick fu_k with a sick sense of humor who has to have horse cocks, alcoholic rapist clowns, and venereally diseased, chainsaw wielding rabbis in most of my issues :P.

Unemployment decreases? Crime decreases? Taxes increase?

Taxes decrease?

Seems about right, though possibly a bit too positive an overall outcome.

It's good. Every option has some adverse effects. It could do with a little bit more humor, as someone said, but then that's just me, being the silly and irrational energy being I am. You also know how to spell and punctuate, which is a relief from some of the other issues here. ;)

It's really well written. just two things. the humor issue that has been voiced before. Sometimes just some funny titles for people to have can make a nice subtle difference.

But what struck me most was the validity included everyone however in the beginning it mentions that an economically more powerful member of the region is proposing the free trade agreement. Perhaps validity only refers to type of government, but if you can exclude people with a powerhouse economy or above it might make it more realilistic
