The question, should Social Security be Privatized, Public or none.

Choice1 Raises Civil Rights, Lowers Economy (increases Income Tax)
1) 'We should have Social Security for everyone, women, children, men, and even animals.' Says noted Libral John Marx. 'With this new system, not only the old will get these benifits, everyone will!'
Choice 2 Raises Economy, Lowers Political Freedoms (Lowers income tax)
2) 'The people should choose which business will handle their future', claims noted Businessman Robert Richardson. 'This is freedom, the old can choose where they want their money to come from, its plain and simple business!'
Choice 3, Raises Economy, Lowers Civil Rights(lowers income tax)
3) 'Social Security?' Cries Melvin Roberts, the famed author of the book, "Living with your Parents", 'Who needs it? As long as you work, and find a cheap place to live, your money is set for life!'

Add an option for keeping it the same old stupid way, and put it into standard issue format.

Don't you have to a population of 500 million to submit issues?
Martren

No, that would be ridiculous. :sniper: :mp5:

You do need a population of 500 million to submit an issue, for silly reasons. And when I told you to add an option, I did not mean for you to replace one. Another thing, those effects are very weak. Try to make them sound awful.

An interesting point. The United States's pension system (and those of most other developed nations) are funded by a payroll tax shared between employer and employee, not income tax. I realize the limitations of NS mean that it's impossible to swing something like that, but I felt it was necessary to point out. However, an issue that pits the private sector agains social services is a good idea. Go for it.

Ok , I fixed the errors and then modified the effects.. so when will this be approved and added to the annals of NS?

this is the perfect issue. it deals about a real life problem that is going to affect a lot of people no matter which way it ends up going.

It's not what you'd call automatic. Once you've gotten to 500 million population, you'll be able to submit it, where it will join the hundreds of other 'perfect issues' to be considered by the issue mods. Assuming it doesn't closely duplicate an existing issue (and that's getting harder and harder to do), it'll be reviewed for selection. If chosen, it gets adjusted by several mods and admins, and gets added to the list some months afterwards.

In short, don't hold your breath. It'll be a while.

i like how in the option where people are given the privatisation option, happiness decreases...and "[effect] the elderly are being tricked into giving their social security money to greedy billionares," such obviously unbiased choices.

Wasnt trying to "armchair general," just makin an observation. also, a question from a newb (which you obviously already pointed out), are these things intended to be accurate or wacky? it could be that i just have the wrong attitude.
