Bomber Man (If anyone can think of a better title, please tell me.)

Several soldiers are being killed every day by suicide bombings in the recently occupied terrorist nation of Boojumstan.

Validity: Nations that have invaded Boojumstan

[option]"We need to pull out now before it's too late!" screams @@RANDOMNAME@@, another teen with ugly clothes and a bunch of piercings. "It's a quagmire in there. We're spending money and troops like crazy. Before we know it, the whole military will be gone!"
[effect]the government @@NAME@@ is well known for its cowardice
[stats]military spending decreases

[option]Secretary of War Rufus T. Firefly, a man who wears strange clothing and walks funny, thinks otherwise. "Whatever it is, I'm against it. We can't let a bunch of badly dressed thugs beat us. We need to fight. Just make sure I'm not fighting."
[effect]@@NAME@@ continues to pour money and troops into what many describe as a quagmire
[stats]military spending increases

[option]"Just nuke 'em and get this over with!" shouts @@RANDOMNAME@@, a fat, red-haired individual wearing a military uniform and sunglasses. "It's their fault for making us do a pre-emptive strike! I don't think it would be too much to ask that they clean up the mess themselves!"
[effect]@@NAME@@ launches nukes at every country that causes a problem
[stats]military spending increases, happiness decreases, trade decreases significantly

[option]"These people have cost us a lot of money," proclaims @@RANDOMNAME@@, a very unpopular economist. "We should stay there and turn the country into a permanent colony. It's only fair, given that we've spent billions of @@CURRENCY@@s and human lives to remove a brutal dictator.
[effect]@@NAME@@ has become a colonial empire, much to the anger of other nations
[stats]trade increases, economy increases, military spending increases, civil rights decrease

[option]@@RANDOMNAME@@, a person frequently denounced as "unpatriotic," also joins in. "We need foreign help! We should appeal to the UED. They could send in more troops to keep order and prevent more suicide bombings. When its over, they can model the new government to assist in world peace."
[effect]a recently invaded nation was given away to ruthless international conspirators
[stats]happiness decreases, civil rights decrease

Other than the fact that it needs more stats, it's really good. But why "Rufus T. Firefly" instead of a random name?

For ex. I picked non-random names for an issue featuring a defense attorney named Lette M. Gophrey and a prosecution named Eumeus Locmup. It never passed unfortunately. :(

I can't think of any stats for the first two that would not be hideously contraversial. But I did add an option.

The only thing I see wrong with this issue is the fact that it already assumes that you sent troops to the nation in question, in the first place. Probably around 40-50% of people wouldn't have dedicated their own 'troops' to such a situation in the first place.

Validity: high military spending

I'm not sure why the validity of this option was chosen as "high military spending", seeing as nations with low military spending, in comparison with the rest of their spending, have sent troops into a conflict. I hate to use real life examples, but to make you understand, Canada and Romania don't exactly have the highest military spending, yet they have troops in Iraq (which I'm assuming you're mimicking this issue with).

Also, there are 3 options to keep the war going, and 1 option for pulling out. I'd suggest adding an issue that would get your nation to appeal to foreign powers to send a peacekeeping force into the nation in question, or something that involves the rest of the world.

However, if anything, I wouldn't go immediately with this issue. If I were you, I'd create the scenario first, in which you would have the option of sending your troops over to Boojumstan in the first place, rather than assuming you have troops there already.
