Since we can have capital punishment...I was wondering if public executions could be legalized. I mean back in the day this was a big issue. Should public executions be legal or should it be in private and only for certain witnesses? I think it could make a good issue. :eek: :sniper:

in america right now they have excecutions only for certian witnesses, and it was only public in like the medeival times- mid evil more like actually- give them their last emotion before death- dignity.

Well, i'm against capital punishment. But if i had to pick one or the other to be law, it shouldn't be a public display because the public would become blood thirsty and expect more executions...possibly. :gundge:

Considering that I'm against people killing other people, I'm kinda biased to begin with. But on the issue of public executions, I think there are enough sick people out there that would enjoy watching an execution for purposes other than their sense of justice. Even a murderer retains a right to some dignity and I don't think that making a public spectacle of their death is morally acceptable.

I just submitted an issue about what to do with prisoners, but it does not have a public option. It already had 6 options anyway.

I see your point, and I agree that public executions are somewhat...cruel. But it still could make for a interesting issue. For one you could use it as an example. But Wondsing is right though crime might be hampered, the people could come to love seeing these executions. But if you execute someone behind closed doors the victims or the victims relatives would find peace in that justice was served instead of having to display their pain to the world. That would be a difficult question, do I scare my people into obedience or do I simply execute the prisoner and hope that my people feel safer. Sorry for rambling, it's just a neat issue to toy with. :confused:
