Has anyone ever heard of this STD that's going around in the Nation States world-VODAIS (Viral Overactive Dysfunction of the Auto-Immune System) :confused:

Is it in 1 of the issues? Does nation states have a WHO (world health organisation).

Should NS leaders be worried?

one of my friends had that for an issue...he just sent everyone to internment camps. :)

When that issue was first submitted, it originally used AIDS for the STD involved. Given the options on the submission, it was decided that making up a fake STD (done by abusing online acronymn generators) would be the better choice to avoid causing offense. So VODAIS isn't a real STD, but given what it stands for, I'd guess it would be similar to AIDS in what it does to folks.

Another NationStates trivia is that when I submitted that issue, people were forced into ghettos instead of internment camps. Was that also changed to avoid offence?

I was thinking of Jewish Ghettos and the Nazi Holocaust when I wrote that option.

Really? I've always given a lot of money to healthcare and such, being a Left-Leaning College State/Civil Rights Lovefest with the lemonade private sector, and I just got the issue recently.

It's been awhile since I editted that issue, but the internment camps replaced the ghettos because it seemed to me that government officials would not generally use terms such as ghetto, but rather the more clinical internment camp. Also, I think more people would eqaute internment camps with the Holocaust than ghettos, given slang today such as "Dude, your car is so ghetto!"

... Though I admit, I don't know if such slang is only local to my area or not =p

But there's people who are born with disease (and it's not their fault!). I watched NSBC News (NationStates broadcasting Corporation) today and it's becoming fast growing in the developing nations of the NationStates and it's not just down to ST intraction, people are being born with it because there is no known cure.

Out of interest what nation in NS first recorded the case?
