I got an idea from a post about negative campaigning in the UK to write an NS issue about the issue of negative campaigning. I was getting all excited, thinking "Oh, boy, I'll write my first issue!" and such. I started drafting it, and then I hit a barrier.
What do you suppose should be the effects of some of the possible actions?
I suppose one could just say that illegalizing negative campaigning decreased political freedoms and decreases government spending by a small amount or somesuch, but what about keeping it legal?
And what would you suggest for possible other options? I was thinking about one that would be outlawing campaign adverts, but does that work or is it verboten to do something like that? What else might I do?
