How Many Issues are "Close" to Being Accepted?

Given how few issues there are (I understand that it takes a while to code them) ... I was curious as to how many that are not accepted are good enough that they could be reworked for approval? I've submitted several that I thought were fun (as have many other players) never to hear anything. While I know this means they were deleted, I was hoping that there was something in one or two that could be improved.
Most issues that fall into that category get deleted for being made redundant by another issue, or not being unique. If we do come across an issue which is nearly acceptable, we will edit it until it is - UNLESS, there are some fundamental flaws throughout the whole thing. I don't really want to go into that now, you can probably guess what I mean by reading my threads.

might as well hijack this instead of making a new topic :p
are you still editing issues or are you guys taking a break from it? (read: have you come across my issue? :p )

I don't mind a hijack, especially because your question is really what I suspect many of us are wondering ... "Should we try to refine the idea, or just start off with a brand new idea?" :)
sirocco, that is something I've never thought of before. I've always tried to get player feedback on my issues, but I didn't think to read about the ones you rejected and why. :) That would be helpful in seeing the "missed it by _that_ much" ideas.
Something I've started doing with UN resolutions is making a subject list. All too often we seem to be repeating ideas now. And it sounds like you are getting the same with issues. Maybe an ambitious player would go through the 170 to 200 existing issues can attempt to categorize them. I know they are all easily seen via the sticky (which I have looked at), but maybe in 2 years we've missed something?
There be lot that you don't know and I won't tell.
I am still editing issues, but I have been immensely busy in RL and haven't been able to give the editing the time and care it needs. As soon as I do, business will be back to normal though.

Where exactly are you, time-frame-wise, and (taking after HC here) have you seen my issue? It's about fireworks...

:p Trying to keep the magic alive eh! Spoil us! Spoil us!
Actually I was looking at my crime rate today, and I know that I'm probably one of the NationStates with the highest crime rate (well, top 10%, as I'm at 120,000 or so in today's survey for lowest crime rates), and realize that every time I give kids the chance to dump school uniforms, stay out all night, listening to cool music, and then skip school the next day that I'm not helping matters. But I also think I'm channeling tons of money into my police and military.
I am guessing that when you code the issues with respect to police funding that you also rachet down crime rates, but now I'm asking if that is always the case? :)
