Here is my first attempt at an issue. I have criticized many people's issues when they posted them, so I now especially invite those people to criticize me, but everyone's comments are welcome.

I'm thinking this could be a branching issue from the many different issues where you can open your borders to trade with other countries.


Title : Unwanted Wombats.

Description : Wombats have been hitching a ride to our @@TYPE@@ with recently arrived imports. They have begun to take over the local ecology. If we don't do anything all that will be left will be wombats!

Validity : Nation should have a fairly good economy and open borders for this to be valid. It would help if their animal was not the wombat.

Options :

[option]"Hmm...why not be creative and establish a wombat tax" Suggests economic advisor @@RANDOMNAME@@. "People can still ship things to us with low standards as long as they pay extra taxes, but if they are clean and don't infect us with wombats they can send goods to our country much cheaper. That way the other countries will take care of this for us!"

Well, I wasn't sure what a wombat was, so I looked it up. Apparently, not related to a bat at all.

Anyway, I wouldn't think a wombat infestation would be possible in certain climates, say tundra or desert, because of no natural habitat. You'll get complaints from nations for whom this just wouldn't make sense.

You might do well to make the issue more generic, pertaining to imports with non-native species with no natural predators, and even one that predates on your national animal, as you have included. In the US, Asian Beetles are one of these pests, imported on purpose, and now a headache in some localities.

Another option is the @@ANIMAL@@-Eating Wombat. Though implied, putting this in the name might make the issue more amusing. (In my case, the Mermaid-Eating Wombat - boggles the mind).

This is a cool issue.

I like the Mermaid-eating Wombat idea too.
