NationStates misunderstanding the decisions...

This is what my nation desc reads: "People are now classified as male, female, or genderqueer, the studies of art and philosophy are banned ..." And all this, just trying to reduce the government involvement in either case. (This nationstate shouldn't classify people according to any characteristic, including gender, and neither should it fund private enterprises like art.)

What kind of wrong impressions did you give to the NationStates engine?

On the contrary, sometimes it's getting it right even though the writer was trying to be sarcastic. "Citizens are expected to be proficient in at least five languages", for example. That's exactly what you can do here in Europe, even though it might be difficult to imagine for the largely monolingual people out there in the uncivilized wilderness. For example, it could work like this: the mothertongue, the other national language, one fluent foreign language, two extra foreign languages. (This is what you have to know to get the maximum grade from the national pre-university examination in here.) It's always fun when someone's making up an example he thinks is impossible, but is not.

"and murderers frequently escape punishment by claiming they were protecting their honour" <-- didnt quite intend for that to happen, but hey.

I prefer my other nation (Cornflake Gremlins) - theres my freakish penguins: "Cornflake Gremlins's national animal is the penguin, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests"....interesting place for penguins to live...

I also remember at one point my nation having an "anything thats purple" tax. Oh, and then there was the "foot tax"...

You are getting entirely too worked up about a silly little game designed to market a novel.

Those who wrote the questions and results were often very biased towards one decision or another. I am rather annoyed (and thus ignore most issues these days) by the fact that the moderate view is rarely, if ever, presented.

That's what the 'dismiss' option is for.

Welcome to the world of Unintended Consequences. It's part of the game, and, I daresay, one of the more enjoyable aspects. Increasing highway funding to allieve traffic jams creates more traffic jams due to construction, for example. Just as in real life, there are always trade-offs.

I actually quite enjoy seeing what the unintended consequences of my actions are. I feel a bit ripped off with the issues where it all goes according to plan :)

Agreed

Although it might say stupid stuff like the stuff you mentioned, its put there as a joke. The only real effects are crime, the 3 freedoms, economy, population personality, private sectors, tax rate etc.

Those 'consequences', as I said, are just put there as a joke. It doesn't affect the above factors.
