the issue that gave me pause today

a very disturbing issue came before our Government today, abortion.

i reluctantly changed Curlyhoward's past stance against it, in favor of legalized abortions from here on.

I just hope this right is used extremely sparingly, and not as birth control. I hope our people think before having sex, but that doesn't always happen. I also pray that any abortions that are done are only in the first trimester.
I feel this is better than the frightening pursuit of an illegal abortion, that a woman would have had to choose in the past here.

I hope we chose well today..........

The scenarios you're giving are more of the role-play aspect of the issue rather than the actual consequence of it in your national description.

The only consequence I can see is perhaps millions of unwanted pregancies resulting in abandonded children and women searching for alternative ways to end unwanted pregnancies.

The government should be hands off when if comes to a personal freedom such as whether or not to give birth to a child. That is a decision left to the mother and the father should he be involved.

-- just our two cents.

I hope you chose well and wisely, We tho not faced with this issue yet are what we elect to call Pro-choice with qualifications. Abortion should be safe and legal in certain circumstances. The father unless he chooses to be involved and is asked to be involved has no right to say what happens, none simply using abortion as a means of birth control? That is murder, there are too many ways to prevent pregnancy in this day and age, starting with the word no. Teaching abstinence while also teaching birth control seems to me to be a foolish thing to do. Too much emphasis is placed on birth control and not enough on abstinence. When birth control fails, and the pregnant young lady is left alone to deal with the problem what choices does she have? Does she even know what they are? That part of "Sex Education" isn't taught nearly as well as birth control is. So what is the solution to that half of the issue? You see it's a split issue isn't it? So what do you decide when the issue is do you inform parents of underage girls that said "Child" is seeking an abortion? My long held belief is this, the issue should never have been legislated to begin with. The choice is best left between a woman and her Doctor and her God if she has one.
