[COLOR=DarkGreen]After having seen the last nightmare of an election, I don't think celebrities should be allowed to pull the political garbage people like Michael Moore and Ann Coulter have. Voters don't need any more confusion as to who's more immoral, who's more wishy-washy, who makes a bigger fool of himself - rather, they need informative commercials that will educate them on the issues so they can properly elect the best candidate for what truly is the most powerful position on the planet. I've never really gotten into politics, but I was absolutely shocked to hear two kids yelling total lies about the candidates at one another - each had picked up junk from the two aforementioned personalities. I know that Moore and Coulter both have strong, reasonable points, but in conjuction to their nonsensical babbling, I think it better they keep their thoughts to themselves. Does anyone else agree/have an opinion on this?

This sort of thing belongs in General. The 'Got Issues' forum is for proposing new issues to be coded into the NationStates game, the kind of issues that your nation gets on a periodic bases to resolve.

That said, I do think I could see this being cast as a NS issue if the references to RL people were removed and if there were options to resolve it, such as celebrity political commentators are good, they are bad and ban celebs from politics, or ban free speech altogether. That sort of thing. Unfortunately, I don't have time to write a full blown issue proposal right now and I wouldn't be able to submit it until I get to 500 million population anyway (hopefully within the next RL week :) )
