The Issue
The fanatical religious organization Old Lutheran's Concerned Citizens for Our God has brought it to your attention that there are many non-believers in your nation, and that they think something should be done about this.

The Debate
"We already have an official religion," says Steffan Rubin, the white cloaked spokesperson for Old Lutheran's Concerned Citizens. "Why not enforce it? After all, the only way to Heaven is through Us and Our God. If they will not believe in Our Loving and Forgiving God, well, clearly they must be PUT TO DEATH."
[Accept]

"Put to death? Is this really the type of person you want to listen to?" says Roxanne Johnson. "Every day I thank God that I'm an agnostic and don't need to believe this nonsense. Religion shouldn't have anything to do with our government. You should get rid of it immediately!"
[Accept]

"They're right, religion shouldn't have a role in our government, but they don't go far enough," says Calvin Frederickson at a local AA (Atheists Anonymous) meeting. "Few things have caused more death and suffering in this world than religion. Just look at the Crusades and the Jihads throughout history! This should be treated like the mental disorder that it is. Remember, religion teaches intolerance, and we cannot accept that!"
[Accept]

"Oh Lord, please don't let our noble leader listen to these extremists!" prays your religious advisor, Hope Rubin. "Religion is an important guiding force in peoples lives, but we have no right to force it on people. Atheists, since they don't have a religion, are less ethical and their actions cost society more, so it's only fair that they should be taxed more heavily to make up the difference."

My basic gripe with this whole issue is that there is no option that would be acceptable to the moderates of most faith groups(regardless of faith) There are Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc who really do think that it is acceptable to kill in the name of god or that they should somehow be able to "stick it to the unbelievers" (ie: faith based initiatives etc etc etc)

That is not the God I (and a lot of other more moderate(dare I say mainline) Christians worship. Jesus said in Matthew's Gospel "give unto Caesar what is Caesars and unto God what is God's" I am absolutely certain that there are those of the Muslim and Jewish faith groups who would say something similiar. In short, there is no moderate view with a message of Grace which forced me to dismiss the issue.

Please add an option or replace one of the existing ones. If the author (or someone who can change the issue) would like me to, I will submit the same issue with a different set of options.

You could instead go with the final lobbyist. He makes the most sense to me and doesn't come off as extreme. My nation taxes everyone everything anyway, so maybe instead we include faithfuls more in the redistribution of wealth.

I agree with the first poster, there aren't really any sensible options in that issue.

I agree with the first poster, there aren't really any sensible options in that issue.

The whole point of issues is that they come from extreme wings of political thought, and as such, make you have to choose a hardline stance to take based on your own ideology or way you want to run your country. Moderate issue choices would lead to stagnantacity.
