I got the following new effect after the last issue:

and the alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit.

because I decided to "let society sort that out" (discrimination in soap operas)
Effect: Civil rights go up (World benchmark->Excessive), Economy goes down (Thriving->Very Good). Why?
I understand why civil rights go up, but why would it hurt my economy? The only way I could imagine this to happen, would be if the corporations deliberately discriminated people, just to spite them :D , but hurt themself financially doing so. Which seems quite unrealistic...
I would think that it would benefit my economy since it reduces government overhead. (not that I have taxes anyway, according to the description)

I'm not sure why it's done that. It increases economic freedoms... I don't know how that affects the economic ranking, though.

But it still doesn't make sense that an increase in economic freedom lowers my economic ranking. Especially if the only other effect is an increase in civil rights. :headbang:

Or are there other associated effects, like a lowered ranking for an industry? I know that my discription looks the same there as beforehand:
