I'm looking for suggestions on how to improve my issue. I'm not sure what I should put for [stats]

Title: @@NAME@@ short of scientists?

Description: Research institutes of the nation are finding it increasingly difficult to find qualified scientists to hire.

Validity: not valid for nations with plenty of scientists

Options:

[option]"We desperately need to encourage children to take an interest in science" says chemistry teacher @@RANDOMNAME@@. "A good start would be to have more science lessons in schools, and to put more documentaries on television, instead of 'reality-TV' and all that rubbish".
[effect]science is being forced down the throats of the nation's youth
[stats]Education focus increases, citizen's intelligence increases

[option]"Science lessons? Documentaries? You have to be kidding!" squeals Teenager @@RANDOMNAME@@. "I don't want to have to learn about boring science stuff, specially not from TV. I need my reality TV shows! Not to mention my soap operas and music videos! Science should be completely optional; only nerds want to learn it anyway!"
[effect]the nation has the lowest number of scientists in the region
[stats]education focus decreases, citizen's intelligence decreases

[option]"Science is going too far already" proclaims preacher @@RANDOMNAME@@. "Only last week some scientist told me that the earth was not the centre of the universe, and that we're all descended from apes! Science should be strictly regulated by the church."
[effect]all scientific theories must get past a church-run censorship board
[stats]education focus decreases, citizen's intelligence decreases, religious focus increases, civil rights decrease, political freedoms decrease

That will help you with the stats.

That thread shows you how to write issues.

Option 1, civil and political freedoms should both take a hit(rember, you're now forcing science on people, just the same as option 3 would leave you forcing religion on people), as would funding for relegion and spirituality and the overall devoutness of the nations population.

Option two might include a slight decreace in taxes as well, though that's debateable.

Aside from that, this sounds good. I can't help but think though, that perhaps some seteroid ridden gym teacher should pipe up about the kids sitting around watching TV all the time, but then that's probably a whole 'nother issue in its self.

I've submitted the issue now. I hope we will see it appearing some time.
