The animal experimentation issue...

I had that issue presented to me this morning, and I chose to ban animal testing. So later on when I get home from college, the issue has been enacted and my country description now reads "dog breeding has been banned in accordance with animal experimentation laws"........ That's not what I sanctioned in my issue choice. I think that issue needs a bit of editing.

From the FAQ: Why is my nation so weird?

Everything is exaggerated a little. Well, okay, a lot. Your decisions affect your nation very strongly, so your country might seem like a more extreme version of what you were aiming for. Unless you have radical politics. In which case you probably think nothing's wrong.

My decision had unintended consequences!

Yep, that'll happen. For one thing, see "Why is my nation so weird?" above. For another, pretty much every decision you make will involve a trade-off of some kind. It's kind of an exercise in choosing the best of a bunch of bad options. You might find this frustrating, especially if you're the kind of person who thinks the solutions to all the world's problems are obvious.

No, I know that, I'm saying the description that the issue decision resulted in had nothing to do with the issue decision itself. I chose to ban animal testing, but the description says I chose to ban dog breeding, so that animals couldn't be tested on..... which is daft.

[EDIT: It doesn't actually affect my nation... it just makes no sense.]

Look at it on the bright side... allowing experimentation would've had opposite unexpected side-effects ;) (I tried)

Like I said, there's no bright side nor no dull side to the event. I got the wanted effects, but the description that the event added to my list is daftly irrelevant to the matter I decided on. As though a ban on breeding dogs would stop testing on all animals.

I think the only way that you're going to understand what people are trying to tell you is to buy and read Max Berry's book "Jennifer Government" and then come back and post what you think.
