I recently got an issue involving Refugees crossing my borders. I had to dismiss it, because I'd just voted on the UN Resolution for Refugees, and I was wondering whether 1) There were other issues that are already in place due to the UN Resolutions and 2) If not, can this be fixed? If you are a member of the UN, you should not be able to get issues that the UN has already resolved.

This is a good question and should be added to the FAQ, because it is asked frequently.

The answer is not all nations are in the UN, and currently no issues consider a nation's UN status before queuing up. In other words, you *will* get issues that were made before or after various UN resolutions were passed, that will allow you to basically violate UN resolutions.

There is no easy way to code the game otherwise.

OPINION:

I like to think that many UN nations "cheat". For example, when a resolution was passed to allow prositituion, maybe some nations claimed they legalized it, but made whoring illegal. Granted, this waters down how the game might be played and kinda makes the UN pointless if you can do this ... but *if* the mods were to allow several players to agree to roleplay a conflict and allow the UN to actually make a statement *on* that roleplayed conflict it would sort of undo this idea that the UN is largely independent of the rest of the game ...

Whoa Whoa Whoa. Not all nations in the real-world follow U.N. Resolutions word for word. Look at Iraq or Kosovo. Not every nation followed those outlawing mass genocide. In fact Ethopia still has mass killing and they are a UN nation. While it is a good concept for the game, and who be a hell of a feat, your gonna have to either make people follow it or not if they are in the UN.
