I recently faced an isseue about annual budget (something along the lines of "accountants get excited" I can't remember the exact wording).
I opted to increase military spending (out of increasing education spending or cutting taxes and spending). Basically I accepted the argument that we couldn't ignore this area entirely.
Subsequently I think there was another issue that asked about increased spending on police and defence on the one hand and...errrr....something else on the other. I decided not to increase military spending again.
I now find myself faced with
"military spending recently hit a new high, and military funding has been stripped back." :o :? :)
Clearly the holy grail of economists everywhere....
Any suggestions?
