This issue is absurd. How in the world are you make a non-profit organization, like a Church, pay income taxes? Now I'm not actually a Christian, I'm really a Buddhist, but it really insults me that income taxes are forced onto organizations that have no income in the first place.

They charge the income tax on the income they get from "donations".
And if that option isn't what you want, just don't choose it.

A church is just another business. It sells a different kind of product, but it engages in all the things any business does. It has plenty of income to tax. There is no reason why one organization should be treated differently than another just because of some "beliefs".
I always assumed they were referring to a property tax anyway.
don't feel bad. if the church is making no money with which to pay the income tax then it doesn't have any income tax to pay. income tax is derived from a certain percent of money that you are making. x% of $0 is $0. It just means in the impossible event that the church does make money, they will take some. Of course the government could always be cruel and charge donation tax.....

Churches and other religious organizations provide spiritual and counseling services. To the extent they collect money for these services, it is reasonable that they pay an income and/or property tax commensurate with other service-related businesses.
