Hey, THAT's not what I said! (Death Penalty issue problem)

When the Death Penalty issue came up I voted to outlaw capital punishment. The result? Exreme political groups are now outlawed, and my nation's civil rights and political freedoms ratings have fallen. WTF?
I'd understand if the crime rate rose or something, but I don't see how these things connect in any way at all. Please enlighten me or fix it!
If you read closely, it'll come out that the people want a death penalty, and the second option is to ban groups who want what you don't. Or something. I wish there was an option to not have a death penalty but still have political groups who want it, though.

Oh, bleep...well, that should teach me to read the issues more closely. Ick.

Yeah, both this issue and the issue where your guy has a sexual scandal are seriously lacking in reasonable choices.

Hit dismiss.
The simulator is notorious for slippery issues. As the FAQ says, an issue will probably be more extreme than you want it-- "Everything is exaggerated a little" is the exact quote.
Of course, if everything was moderated, it might not be so interesting. ;)

I simply dismiss this one. That way I'll never go wrong. 8)

Correct on both counts.
