Outsourcing issue question

Usually the options for issues are tricky, but fair, in revealing their results.. However the outsourcing issue results do not seem to reflect the issue offered:

3. "The only reason that companies are so unwilling to stay here is because of the constricting regulations," says @@RANDOMNAME@@, a ridiculously wealthy businessman. "Everytime my company tries to make a decision, we run up against about a million laws forbidding us from our ventures. Since when has making money been a crime? Allow more economic freedom and companies will be simply flocking to this country. The workers will suffer a bit from losing minimum wage laws, of course, but that's progress for you."

This results in "corporations are either above the law or corrupting it" and my economy dropping a level. How? I am really confused by this result as it does not seem to relate to the text op option three at all.

Yeah, I'm pretty weirded out by this too. Whoever proposed this issue needs a primer in economics. Option 3 should boost the economy, if anything.

From the WSJ 5-12-04:
"Economists have long argued that removing tariffs and quotas on imports helps consumers by reducing the price of those goods and services from abroad."

And this from the news section, not the editorial section.

Tres odd...

Let's see here...

Well... I think I can see where one's economy might drop, it's just likely to be very, very rare. I chose option 3 myself, and didn't suffer a drop. Without listing all the effects (and providing a primer on issue codes), all I can say is that it is possible, just, as I mentioned, fantastically rare.

Congratulations?

Ok, I could see an odd confuance of affairs having that result, but the corps flout and corrupt the law? How on earth does that in any way resemble the implications option as written?
As I said above, theresults are usually fairly clear, if you read the option closely. I think this is a poorly written result not at all reflected in the wording of the option.

There is a possibility of your economy dropping as a result of picking option 3, but that would only happen in unusual circumstances.

By giving corporations a lot more economic freedom, you're pretty much giving them power. Absolute power corrupts and power corrupts absolutely.

Issues can have unforseen consequences, just like in real life. No need feel like you're being victimised here. :P

Not feeling victimised, and I realise that issues may have unforseen results. However, those results are usually hinted at in the wording of the options. I do not see any hint of that in the wording here. Again, I think either the option or the results are poorly worded, to the point of being unrelated.

Just, my opinion. However, the regional board for Greenfields (http://s2.invisionfree.com/The_Non_Human_Union/index.php?) does have a current thread regarding certain issues with recent issues considered to be of "poor quality", which I welcome you to address.

As always, moderator comment is appreciated. it is good to know you are listening, even if we may dissagree. Thank you! :D

My objection to this is issue is likewise based on option 3. How many times must I repeal all those silly economic laws? Why do they keep coming back, by this time the game should have figured out that those nations which are Capitalizt and such don't have laws like this to repeal. No nation classified Capitalizt or higher (lower?) should even get an option like this.
