Recently several of @@NAME@@'s highest-rated game shows have been discovered by some young reporters to be fraudulent, with the outcomes being scripted beforehand. The story is not yet breaking news, and the reporters have come to the government for advice.

The Debate

1. "Game shows rigged? This is an outrage," cries out @@RANDOMNAME@@, your Secretary of Commerce and an avid game show watcher. "When I turn on my favorite game show, I expect to see some reasonably smart guy playing for a million @@CURRENCY@@s. I don't expect to see people pretending to play for money; if I wanted that I would watch a soap opera. We need to regulate these 'unscripted' programs and make sure they are all clean."
[effect]the government keeps close tabs on game shows to make sure they are legitimate
[stats]cynicism decreases, taxes increase

2. "If these reporters go to the people with this story, we're going to be ruined," argues @@RANDOMNAME@@, the president of @@NAME@@'s largest TV station. "We rig the games to keep ratings up; it's good for the TV industry and good for the economy. It has to be our little secret that the shows are rigged; we can't let the public find out, and the best way to do that is via press censorship."
[effect]viewers watch game shows oblivious to the fact that they are fixed as the government and press keep it a secret
[stats]civil rights decrease, economy increases, political freedoms decrease, patriotism increases

3. "Tell me again why we should get involved?" clamors @@RANDOMNAME@@, a well-known libertarian and special interest activist. "So what if a TV network makes a few fools rich for doing nothing but looking good? We have the environment, education, defense, the economy, and murder to worry about; a few rigged game shows is none of our concern. Besides, can't the people decide for themselves not to watch rigged shows?"
[effect]all TV game shows are suffering in the ratings because of rumors that they are rigged

4. "Well, I have a problem with people being rich for doing nothing," demands @@RANDOMNAME@@, CEO of a major @@MAJORINDUSTRY@@ corporation. "I worked hard to make my money, and if someone else wants to be rich, they should have to do the same! No more of these free-riders getting rich off of game shows, or enteratinment careers, or whatever! Professional entertainment must be outlawed right now! That goes for pro sports, game shows, acting, what have you. It's not a real job! Business is a real job!"
[effect]entertainers are now out of work because laws forbid them from being paid for their work

Stats go up once i have time for them.

You might want to streamline the phrasing of some of your [effect]s. Most of them are a bit clumsy, and remember, you don't need to include *every* bit of information.
