I answered a question about dams yesterday, it was either 'disallow the dams' or 'allow dams'. On the 'against' side, 'greenpeace' said it would leave quite a mark on the environment & animals. On the 'for' side, it said it would mean there wouldn't need to be gas powered generators. Hmm, save the environment and animals, or kill them off and have less polution. I chose 'save env'.
HOWEVER, upon checking my state information, it now says;
"flash floods that dams could have controlled regularly ravage small towns in mountain valleys"

I don't remember this being mentioned at all in the two options. Also, since 'floods ravage small towns' was never in my state description, why, all of a sudden, are floody ravaging small towns?!
How about a question like "ban cigarettes/don't ban cigarettes", with an effect of, "house fires are extremely common due to smokers falling asleep and being burnt alive/you destroy the ozone with cigarette smoke leaving the state desolate and in ruins"...</sarcasm>


*sigh*... just venting steam and seeing if anyone else had the same gripes.

That's part of what NationStates is all about - there can never be a perfect solution to a problem. There will always be someone with reason to complain. NS is an exaggeration, nothing in it is wholly serious and that's why choosing some options will have unexpected results. Maybe next time you can choose a different option or dismiss it. Your choice. :)
