Star Wars Project
Issue Description
The @@NAME@@ Ministry of Defense want to launch a manned spaceship to space in order to construct a sattelite armed with laser weapons for the @@NAME@@ defense system.
The Debate
1. The @@NAME@@ Minister of Defense, Christian Johanssen says, "We live in a turbulent world, where the strong conquers the weak. Being the weak side is a shame for a great proud nation like @@NAME@@. Its better to die on our own knees, than to live under @@NAME@@ opponent's knees. However, its better to live than to die, right? So, why don't we just strengthen the @@NAME@@ defense system by launching a manned spaceship to the space out there. Then, together we can construct a new powerful weapon for @@NAME@@: a sattelite armed with laser weapons. This weapon is perhaps the most deadliest of all, even compared to nuclear weapons. This weapon can unleash laser to the @@NAME@@ opponent's cities, military bases, and their battle units. Isn't that good, eh? With this new weapon, I guarantee that @@NAME@@ will be viewed as a strong, even as a superpower, not as the weak.".
2. The anti-war activist, Joanne Metz says, "What!?! The construction of that sattelite will be considered as an aggressive state from @@NAME@@ to the other nations in @@REGION@@ and perhaps in the world! You're starting a war! This actions can't be tolerated at all costs! Remember of @@NAME@@ position as a national entity. What will be the costs of war? Here are the costs of war: children will lose their parents, their home, and their future; @@NAME@@ economy will be crushed due to the payment for war efforts; investors will no longer see @@NAME@@ as a safe nation. I suggests that you think about it first, before you decide to construct this sattelite.".
3. Mark Lim, the supreme leader of the Unions says, "Hmmm...I think its better for the government to solve the economic problems first before going to construct this defensive project. I don't care about @@NAME@@ defense system, I don't care about the @@NAME@@ armed forces. What do I care is just simple: how to get a proper living. This defensive project will surely costs a huge amount of @@CURRENCY@@, and that means it will cripple the @@NAME@@ economy. And its results will be terrible for economically-poor workers like us. How about bringing prosperity for the economically-poor workers like us first before you decide to construct this defensive project?".
[Option 1]
[effect]A new weapon, the laser-armed sattelite was finally built by @@NAME@@ to strengthen the @@NAME@@ defense system.
[stat]Political freedoms (-), economy (-), civil rights (-)
[Option 2]
[effect]@@NAME@@ canceled the construction of the laser-armed sattelite for the better future of mankind.
[stat]Political freedoms (+), economy (+), civil rights (+)
[Option 3]
[effect]@@NAME@@ canceled the construction of the laser-armed sattelite and used its fundings to enchance prosperity in @@NAME@@.
[stat]Political freedoms (+), economy (+), civil rights (+)
Validity: to all nations.
