Can you edit an existing issue, because, well....

I reakon this one is incorrect:

"Don't Dam Our Rivers, Damnit!" Say Protesters

The Debate
1) "Do you know how many fish die in other dams in our region each year?

2)"engineer Aaron Barry. "While Skyshroudsvillertown may have to pay the price in animal diversity, as well as adverse effects on the environment.

I am an engineer and all dams must be built with devices that allow fish and other water borne thingys to travel up and down stream past the dam. I dont like the way this issue makes engineers look like they cant look after the environment!

Suggestion is to make some other profession suggesting option 2, while an engineer suggests new option 3 which is more expensive but allows for the passage of fish.

Not all the issues can accomodate what everyone thinks/feels about a part of it. Thus, they stay the same, and aren't edited because then someone could complain about just about anything about it and demand it's edited to accomodate them.

There's already a backlog of issues to begin with...

I don't know if this would make you feel better about this issue, but increases in fish mortality after dam building aren't necessarily related to poor design of the dam or fish passage systems as such - there are some (probably) unavoidable consequences of dam building related to their purpose as dams. For instance, increased slackwater promotes the growth of certain species relative to other species, potentially increasing predation on young fish; it can also promote certain diseases. Reduced fish runs need not be due to any engineering incompetence.
