Population Growth Rate

Maybe there already is this, but I think it'd be cool if there were issues that affected your population growth, making it slower or faster or even negative. I mean, i'd like to have a small country, and I bet some people want a really huge country. And the growth rate could affect other stuff, like you'd need more food if your growth rate is high, and better health care, etc, or your people would starve and get sick.

But the nations are already really huge a it is. In about a year, the largest nation Josofovich will have a population larger than the Earth. Already most of the more active nations have populations larger than China.

As for shrinking and slowing pop growth, [violet] addressed this already. They said that it's possible, but they'd rather not do it in NS1. They like the way that your pop still grws no matter what. After all, this is a parody, nobody said that this is supposed to be realistic.

Before anybody claims that the last sentence of the second paragraph contadicts the first sentance of the first paragraph, I should point out that I'm not complaining about how large the population is, just saying that it shouldn't be made to grow even quicker.

Also, keep in mind that population usually gives a rough idea of nation age, excluding the pop bug and with resurected nations. Also with resurected nations pop usually proves that they were resurected and not just new nations claiming to be. If a new nation can grow faster or an older nation can shrink, it would be confusing with resurrection taken into account, and would further confuse the use of determining age within the game.

I have the same questions. It's rather disturbing, as one of my nations, a small volcanic island set chronologically about fifty years ago, is packed with people shoulder to shoulder. I'd like to be able to get those people to stop breeding!

And why can't nation age be simply stated?

I agree with Barbary. I think it'd be neat if it said "The Isles of Scilly" and then some phrase you can choose, and then how long "for 50 years" or whatever. You could choose "have been independent," " were founded," "formed a confederation," "were conquered," or whatever. But I guess that suggestion is for elsewhere.

Because they only started recording creation dates recently, most resurrected nations were not major posters whose creation dates people would remember, and they dod not keep the admin telegrams.

I agree that would be a better idea if it were possible for all nations, but it's not.

No, your opinion matters to most of us. That wasn't a opinion though. It was a fact an an inaccurate one.

No matter what you do you can't decrease your pop (except possibly with the overpopulation issues).

You guys can decrease my pop I know, but that's not me doing it. (Is that what you did? My nation is five mil larger than yesterday so I assume you changed it back)

That is why me and my freinds are going to rp a nuke war over south asia, so we can rp with our original nations. And realistically rp a huge drop in population. NOt to mention the necessary reconstruction after a nuke war.
