If you need help with any issues you can post it here. I will be more than glad to help.
OK. What are the effects of the various options on Issues 104 - 111? I know some of them but I've been dismissing several because I can't tell what the outcome will be except, probably to raise taxes.

A few of these might increase your taxes depending on what option you chose

#105: Compensation Culture Must End, Say Corporations [Issue by Zhudor] This one allows corporations to grow
#106: Give The Red Light District The Green Light? [Issue by Lmaortfmolia] This one allows prostiution
#107: Private Lab Holds @@NAME@@'s Sick To Ransom [Issue by Silverbrook] This one is about research on a "drug that will combat...[the] most notorious malad"
#108: Gambling Interests Offer High Stakes [Issue by New Sweden X] This one talks about gambling and if you should keep it.
#109: Karate Kids Cause Controversy [Issue by Yarrum] This one is about spending goverment money on karate lessons for kids to fight crime, sending them to the military, or not supporting them at all.
#110: Too Low On Laws, Say Citizens [Issue by Kandarin] This one deals with rebuilding your military
#111: Southern @@NAME@@ Demands Semi-Autonomy [Issue by Ceroo]
This one is to allow more autonomy in your nation
I hope this helps
Actually, I was asking for specifics, i.e., what does each option do about: size of government, exact amount of income tax rate, crime, civil rights, economy and political freedom. Those are the obvious ones. If you also know about environment, health, happiness, etc., that would be welcome information, too.
For example, you said A few of these might increase your taxes depending on what option you chose. I know that. I even stated it in my post. I was hoping for a detailed answer similar to what I've written below:
#101: Tiara Sign of Oppression, Declare Feminists [Issue by The Prelapsarian State]
Opt. 1. increase tax rate by 1%; decreases crime by 1.
Opt. 2. increaes tax rate by 1%
Opt. 3. increases tax rate by 1%

I recently shot my economy in the foot. I'd like to get it back on track without hurting my environment too much, and without trashing all my nice social policies.
any advice?

Oh, and, Palmeria...
unless this person offering to help is a mod, they can probably only guess at the effect of Various Things on your economy, tax rate, etc.
Though, Jeditopia, it might be helpful if you indicated *which* choice on those issues does what, at least in vague direction.

If one has played long enough for the issues to repeat and kept careful notes, one's guesses can be fairly accurate. Jeditopa offered help on issues and I just wanted to see if this was hubris or not. Ballotonia knows all the effects but he says sharing takes the suspense out of the game. Myself, I'm not big on suspense. I want to know.
As for your economy, it's tough to fix it without hurting the environment and getting undesireable language in your nation's descriptions. You may want to send TM's to Lobistica and Endolantron who are both Civil Rights Lovefests with "Frightening" economies and ask them how they did it (I wish I knew how they did it).
Here are the options I use that affect the economy. However, some choices make other things change, too: #2, Opt. 3 - funding the auto industry helps but it also raises your taxes; #9, Opt. 1- eating your national animal; #16, Opt. 2 - firing striking workers (but this also increases your crime rate tremendously although it lowers taxes); #17, Opt. 1 - allowing corporations to buy votes (but this makes your government corrupt and increases political freedoms); #18, Opt. 1 - using taxes to subsidize business; #27, Opt. 1 - selling organs (this also increases crime and decreases taxes); #76, Opt. 1 - no union (also decreases taxes); #83, Opt. 1 - no government funding for monorail.

Thank ye kindly.
(though I don't mind *minor* environmental damage--for example, I voted to do some mining in the mines-under-the-forest issue)
Any further advice (from others, for example) would be appreciated.

I am that too - it takes 2 issues a day with careful issue balancing (don't know the specifics) and a long time playing to manage.
