I had 2 ideas for issues, and wanted to 1. gather opinions, 2. check that they're not already out there, and 3. (for one of them) possibly gather additional options.
Issue 1: religious use of marajuana.
Obviously, only for places where it's illegal
The choices being "no exceptions", "make religious use legal", and "make all use legal"
Obviously, for the actual issue, I'd say it much better than that. Likewise for most of what follows.
Issue 2: tax protesters
general issue is that people are protesting high taxes
I have several ideas for options on this one.
"Your brother in law says 'Eh, arrest a few of them, the rest will fall in line'"
(effects: "Political protesters are routinely jailed", political freedom way down, police spending up...)
"I suppose we could make a few modest cuts--across the board, of course."
(effects: "Taxes and government services have been slashed recently", taxes down, all aspects of government reduced slightly)
"Abolish the government!"
(effects: "The government recently ceased operations", government > > anarchy)
"Sell natural resources"
(effects: "Mining and logging have devastated previously pristine areas", taxes down a bit, environment down a lot, economy (esp. mining and such) up)
"User fees. Only make people pay for the government services they themselves use"
(effects: "@@Nation@@ has adopted a pay-as-you-go government", taxes down, economic freedom up, government services such as education down slightly, government corruption up) (is "government corruption" a variable?)
"Make taxes more progressive. Corporations and the rich need to pay their share"
(not sure of the appropriate effects)
