Sex education issue

I'm new to submitting issues, so I thought I'd post what I have here to get people's opinions on it. Also, I need a good name for it (can't think of anything at all), and perhaps some validity restriction (I can't think of anything that would apply, but I'm probably missing something). Here's what I have:

Description: A major religious group has recently protested sex education programmes in the schools of @@NAME@@

Options:[option] "We all know how immoral teenagers are on their own!," cries Archbishop @@RANDOMNAME@@. "We cannot condone encouraging immorality by teaching them about contraception and the like, which only serves to make it easier for them to engage in sexual activity. Sex education must be banned and replaced with the simple, fool-proof advice to follow a risk-free and sin-free path of abstinence!"
[effect]sex education has been banned and replaced with the simple advice, "Say No, or burn forever in Hell!"
[stats]population is less healthy, more devout, civil rights decrease

[option] "This is preposterous," says STD awareness campaigner @@RANDOMNAME@@. "If anything, we need more funding and time for sex education so that our teenagers know exactly what the risks are and how to reduce their chances of contracting diseases such as AIDS. Otherwise, we could be facing an epidemic in a few years!"
[effect]teenagers undergo several hours of lessons each week to learn about STDs and contraceptives
[stats]population is more healthy, intelligent, tax rates rise slightly, education becomes slightly more of a government spending priority

[option] "I'm sick of all the hypocrisy!" says gay rights campaigner @@RANDOMNAME@@. "We should be treating everyone with equal rights, and yet homosexuality is discriminated against in schools, which teach only heterosexual sex education. We want equality here too - educate our children about ALL forms of sexuality! And of course, I agree that we need to teach them about contraception and the dangers of AIDS and the like."
[effect]conservatives are up in arms about new homosexual sex education programmes in schools
[stats]civil rights increase, population is more healthy, tax rates rise more than with previous option and education becomes more of a government spending priority than with previous option

Sounds like a good issue.

I feel that your point is very well made! however, I feel that the sanctity of a marriage is also discriminated. I see everything on tv and elsewhere that promotes homsexuality. I see almost nothing condoning the standard 3 sex marriage! People give up on marriages and relationships too easily. I am currently married but also lived in a homosexual relationship for 4 yrs. I have been on both sides and they are both discriminated equally

So should I add a fourth option?:

"This is all very well, and I support equality for people of all sexualities, but we need to start supporting the sanctity of marriage!" says passer-by @@RANDOMNAME@@. "Teach children that sex before marriage is wrong, whoever they're marrying!"
[effect]children are taught to save themselves for their future spouse, whatever gender or sexuality they may be, and are given no sex education
[stats]?????????????????No idea??????????????

Also can I have a name for the issue?

A fourth option would be a great idea! I think you have hit the nail on the head with the fourth option idea

I can't think of stats that the 4th option could give without unbalancing things - otherwise there would not be a similar amount of trade-off in each option. So unless someone can think of good stats effects, I'll have to leave it out. Also, can I please have a name for it? All I can think of is something straightforward like Ban on sex education demanded.

Great issue. Look forward to recieving it. How about "Sex ed. Scandel", or something along those lines. I definatly think the word scandel should be in there. Good luck! :D

Thanks. But I don't think scandal works - it implies some kind of...y'know...messing around...like if teachers were, y'know, with the kids. Ergh.

Isn't this the same as the first?

No the first is saying that you can't have sex, this one is saying that you should save yourself. EFFECT: less babies, population doesn't increase as fast. Lot's more morral society.

Actually this doesn't work. I'll just leave it at the original 3 options. The 1st and 4th were actually the same, because I omitted the bit where the psycho religious guy should say "sex should only be within the holy bonds of marriage between a man and woman". The only difference in the end was that the 4th wasn't as forceful.

Plus I'd like to point out that teaching abstinence and removing education about contraceptives doesn't work. You slightly reduce numbers having sex (which isn't necessarily a good thing, IMO, although it isn't necessarily bad, because as far as I'm concerned sex isn't a moral issue), but this is far outbalanced by the numbers of teenagers who have sex anyway but don't use protection.

I'm going to submit it like this:

well, that's one issue I will never get. The members of said religious group would have been bundled off to some other country before they could finish their speeches.
