Cloning Research Promises New Breakthrough

Scientists using cloned human embryos for research are on the verge of a medical breakthrough.

The Debate

"It's really very exciting," says lab head Freddy Falopian. "Until now, we've kept very quiet, to avoid being targeted by lunatic fringe groups who for some reason think it's wrong to clone human embryos. It's too early to promise anything, but we hope that one day we will have genetic cures for a whole range of debilitating illnesses. I certainly hope the government will support our work."
[Accept]

"Well, if you have to be part of a lunatic fringe group to object to this barbaric practice, I'm a lunatic," says placard-waving protestor Lars Fellow. "Of course it would be nice to cure these unnamed diseases, but at what cost? They're messing with the sanctity of human life. It's wrong, and the lab should be shut down immediately."

#1 will increase civil rights slightly

#2 will decrease civil rights slightly

More of what you think is right on this issue, :)

It's not cheating or this forum wouldn't exist. Some of us are trying to achieve a certain kind of government; others are trying to keep a certain type of government and there are some issues that have such strong effects that chosing the incorrect option can set the nation on the wrong path for a long time.

So thanks to Emperor Matthuis.

Slightly?I got "rare" on political freedoms after i chose against cloning. On the other hand, civil rights were "never heard of " at the start.
