How do you become a corrupt dictatorship?

A psychotic dictatorship would do. I have a couple of nations, & the first, is an "Inoffensive Democracy." My second try is a "Father Knows Best." I've noticed that there seems to be an inverse relationship between political freedoms and economic strength. Is this necessarily so? 8)

No there isn't. There are anarchy nations with frightening economies, there are iron fist consumerists and corporate police state nations with frightening economies. There are left-wing utopia nations with imploded economies, there are psychotic dictatorship nations with imploded economies.

If you want to become a corrupt dictatorship, you need to outlaw elections, have moderate civil rights and authoritarian economy.

There are at least two or three issues that let you outlaw elections. Heck, one of the first issues every nation gets, "Should Voting Be Compulsory?", has an option where your brother says something like "Why do we even need elections, anyway? You always know the best thing to do..."

If you're trying to create one from scratch, Qaa figured it out and tells you how to do it here (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=102892).

If you're trying to drive your nation into corrupt dictatorship it has to be centrist in civil rights (average to very good?), and authoritarian in economy (imploded to struggling) and political freedoms (outlawed to some).

The other types of government with authoritarian economies and libetarian political freedoms are Liberal Democratic Socialists and Tyranny by Majority.
