Conflicting Outcomes

I have a Capitalist Paradise with a thriving/powerhouse economy, yet I've got stupider citizens than other nations with "frightening" or "imploded" economies.

Doesn't it take brains for The People to run their capitalist endeavors?

And how come I have a shortage of sporting events? If there's enough demand in a thriving economy, shouldn't these things work themselves out? I like my gov't small, so I don't want to get into the "Stadium Building Business" - I'd prefer to let my people do it.

Do these issues of mine have reasons, or are they just beyond the scope of the game?

These things tend to work themselves out. The descriptors really don't affect your nation much. As for stupidity, well, the game doesn't really have much common sense. Note that my nation is almost one of the least stupidest nations in the world and yet my economy is Frightening. Apparently my earlier choices in the game when I had a socialist economy still have ramifications till today.

Actually, various issues can raise or lower general intelligence, and eductation level. As a January 2004 nation, you haven't had many of either, and thus haven't been able to go up and get better rankings.

Furthermore, most of the issues that affect intelligence or education are unrelated to economic issues.
