There are so many punctuation, grammar, and spelling problems in this one sentence that I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say. Very ironic, indeed! 8)

1) Contractions are not considered improper grammar; they're perfectly acceptable as long as they're correctly punctuated.

2) "inporproper"... Was that supposed to be "improper"? :?

3) It's a run-on sentence that's missing some commas and other punctuation marks.

4) You won't validate it by calling it any form of grammar, but then what is it? Improper grammar is exactly what it is, really. That comment might be better directed at the "hacker lingo" in the next sentence.

Assuming that the mystery word is indeed "improper", here's my attempt at fixing that option:

I meant to have the long sentance as a joke, though I didn't notice that it was run-on, only that it was long, so I will fix that. And the joke is that the grammar nazis are so uptight, that they can not bear contractions (I had an English teacher who had retired after about fifty ears, then come back to teach, then retired middle of third trimester, hated use of contractions in setances), and can not bear to call it anything.

Thank you. Believe it or not, I never learned the use of "--" in the roughly 9.5 (not the midterm of the second trimester yet) years of school, plus year of Kindergaten and however mnay years of preschool, that I've been through so far.

I won't use this paragraph entirely, as you canged some parts that I wished to keep in.

Perhaps I could add a not so extreme option where you chose to fund grammar classes?

Although then, assuming that it were to ever get accepted, there would be little incentive to chose the others except for humor.

Unless you are a profesor of the English language, you should never be a Grammar Nazi. This is why I normally never correct other people's grammar. My own grammar is normally pretty poor, and as I type quickly, I have a tendency to make stupid mistakes, and to make horrendous typos.

Despite this fact, I do have a special Grammar Nazi mode. . . :twisted:

If you are going to rant against bad grammar, a disclaimer for typos is not, in my opinion, an acceptable substitute for proofreading. Or at the very least, not an acceptable substitute for proofreading in that particular post.

I can understand tolerating typos in our own postings under most circumstances, but the topic at hand should be enough to make us all check twice.
