Outsourcing
Do you think an issue on the problem of outsourcing is a good idea?
Something along the lines of: -
I think outsourcing is an excellent idea says @@name@@ free trade enthusiast, it helps the smaller nations get their chance.
etc.

Thinking in RL terms, outsourcing out of the country increases the number of people out of work, which will increase money paid in welfare and hence raises taxes.
Inside the country, outsourcing reduces working standards and pay for the employees, as you're increasing the number of middle men in the chain (rather than everything being under the roof of one company). Wages go down, working hours and stress go up, which has a knock-on effect to the health service, and possibly on the crime rate.
Having said all that, I have no idea what it would affect in NS :) Not sure how you'd show a 'free trade' effect between nations.

You could show the economic effect on the country and the effect of increased crime due to unemployment. As you say though the free trade aspect couldn't be shown.

Oh, I'm reasonably liberal - apart from the dictatorship I'm running in another nation, of course :). It just seems to me (from what I've seen happen in the UK) that outsourcing is something favoured by conservatives; they've always been on the side of the bosses rather than the workers (indeed, it's been said that the Tory slogan is "12 men for 10 jobs").
