End the Stereotypes

The purpose of the issues is to be stereotypical. Stereotyping is an old comedic device to create humour, as the audience can rapidly identify with the beliefs and attitudes of the particular characters involved.
Yes, stereotyping is offensive, especially when you belong to a group being stereotyped. However, in the final analysis the average man-in-the-street (not you or me - I'm Christian too) identifies conservative Christians with a set of values, whether rightly or wrongly.

Is that why my previous issues have been rejected? Not enough anti Catholic stereotypes? I have sent in a few anti-abortion issues and not gotten them as issues. Is their lack of anti-catholocism to blame.

And I don't see much stereotyping outside of religious. Why are sexist or racist stereotypes not used?

Maybe because religion is a toss up (everybody has their own opinion), but racist and sexist stereotypes are generally considered to be untrue. This is not to justify the over-use of the Catholic Church as representative of the religious right. Though, the Catholic Church is the epitomy of an organized religion, having influence all over the world and a clearly delineated power structure. Anyway, maybe for issues that are less related to a monolithic church structure, some diversity could be injected. It would be nice to see Mormons protesting things, or maybe some Eastern Orthodox ministers expressing their points of view.

The issues are made to be extreme in their choices. Yes, stereotypes are going to be made, but they are not there to offend anyone. I am a Christian and don't take any offense at these stereotypes. You have to remember the people submitting the issues are not trying to offend anyone; they are trying to keep with the extreme choice goal of NS.

In relation to Vivelo's question about "is that why my previous issues have been rejected?", I'm not sure but I somehow doubt it.

To begin with, depending on when you submitted the issues, we may not even have had the opportunity to look at them, let alone reject them. There's also the possibility that there was another, similar issue that required less work to get it working.
I'm just throwing some ideas out there, not actually saying "this is what was wrong with your issues".

Actually, for some issues, it would make more sense to use evangelists.

And now that I think of it, televangelists give issue feedback all the time in real life. They never shut up

I'm technically Catholic, but don't agree with alot of the church's teachings (I don't think there's anything wrong with birth control or abortion etc), but I have to agree. Catholicism is pretty conservative, but there are many that are ALOT more conservative and ALOT more fundamentalist.

Yes. For my part, I'm a Puritan in most matters. Please send a telegram if you would like to invade.

You bastard, I take offense at that.

It's not nice to call people names.

Why are the Catholics in every issue always taking the Christian stance.

Taligari used "Conservative Christians," but I agree in that I'd appreciate the option to have my government favor Protestants. Still, it's good to work within the limits of the game, whatever they may be. We aren't paying to play it.
