*Now* I'm confused...

...though admittedly, that doesn't take much. :)

Reading the lowdown on my nation today, I see that:

"It is illegal to make racist remarks in public" but "the alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit".

Not sure how I managed that! Do I have to arrest myself now?

SCIf the show is on cable, or some other pay service, then it is not public, and is watched and produced in private. SO there :P

This can be taken two ways, both of which I will address. Hope this helps make more sense to you.

IC reason- The show is being filmed in a private studio, therefore all remarks are being said in private. When the show is broadcasted on the TV, the people watching it are not saying anything racist themselves, therefore it is legal!

OOC reason- This is another one of those contradictions that are so humorous. If you make a decision on the Soap Opera issue to do things one way, then get the issue again and do things another way, this happens.

Once you make a choice on an issue, it is logged in your nation description. The game doesn't worry about contradictions. Others are out there as well, such as protecting your national animal, and yet it is your favorite course. So no worries, this is 'normal'.

What, you never heard of "voluntary" compulsory voting ? never been "volunteered" for anything before ? :)

It did, thanks :)

Right... so unscrupulous persons could write issues such that voting on them causes confusion, diverse alarums and people's heads exploding?

Cool!
