protected species! effects a bit too much???

holy crap, having your national animal as a protected species as a response to the 3rd option of "@national animal@ on the dinner table" issue dropped my (other nation's) economy 3 categories!!!  :x

The said animal was not on the dinner table to start with when I got the issue (as they got eaten too much and I banned eating them much earlier and suffered the consequences before receiving the issue to eat them again)

Dropping a nation from economic powerhouse to strong is a bit too much, don't you think?
especially considering beef-based agriculture isn't even one of my main industries.

anyhow, just wanted to rant a bit and maybe bring this to some mods attention, having a single issue do a 3 economic category change seems to be way too heavy...

It just doesn't seem very logical for any single issue to have such a drastic effect, after all, 3 categories!!!

It was probably because your agriculture sector was holding up too large a chunk of your economy. If you make ur economy 2 dependant on one thing, and suddenly you chose a view on an issue that drasticaly affects the economic sector, ur economy is in for a rough time.

That's what I was complaining about, becuase the agriculture sector WAS NOT a major part of my other nation's economy(my other nation has a powerful private sector dominated by info tech), I would have accepted the consequences if it was, but it wasn't.

and I already said that in my original post, plz read things more carefully.

This issue is a bit strange, since the animal you chose might be something like a chicken that you would expect everyone to eat, or something like a cute baby panda that no-one would ever consider eating.

In my case, my national animal is a type of Haggis, which is a fictional animal but an actual kind of food, so banning eating it would be very odd behaviour.
