Pol Pot state
Don't you think it would be funny if you could have a Pol Pot-type state, where all the cities have been destroyed and people were forced to work in the countryside? I've been trying to think of a good policy to suggest for destroying all large cities, but am struggling to think how you could make a good side and bad side to each policy. What I think I'll suggest is if you destroyed them and evacuated all city dwellers, civil rights would go down and economy would go drastically down, but the environment would improve and crime would go down. Has anyone got any better ideas for anti-city policies.

Economy would go down by a lot and civil rights would go down by a lot but if you want to destroy cities i suggest a good atomic bomb :twisted:

A-Bomb has a lot of nuclear fallout that will hurt your population for generations to come. I suggest the Hydrogen Bomb if your gonna go that way. Cleaner and a hell of a lot more powerful.
Of course you could always blow the buildings down. Health would suffer for a little bit from the smoke and dust, but it would pay off in the long run. Yes, crime would drasticlly be cut. Economy would plummet. Civil rights would be killed, as the people had to leave the cities even if they wanted to stay.
Environment would slowly get better, of course.
All good things would come very slowly from this, but pay off in the end.
It wouldn't be applicable for nations with large cities, however your gonna program that.

...and a lot from lack of sanitation, lack of clean water, disease (assuming you've got rid of the hospitals as well) etc etc Unless, of course, you plan to move the people to the countryside first, and put in lo-tech infrastructure...?

Concerns have been raised at home and abroad that your nations population will soon exceed your ability to feed them. The United Nations have stated that you should be listed as a 'high priority' zone in relation to the prevention of famine.
Choice 1:
Your cabinet is worried that UN intervention would have a destablising effect on the credibility of the government.Your welfare advisor/minister/tsar suggests that government policy should be geared towards the promotion of agriculture,with the pre-requisite tax breaks and incentives in order to ensure a good flow of populace from city to country.
Choice 2:
Your cabinet is bullish about UN intervention and advises two courses of action. Firstly there should be an implementation of a 'closed door' policy shutting your nation off from all contact with the outside world. Any person wishing to leave the country must gain written permission from thier local government and provide details of their destination and date of return.
Your military advisor/minister/tsar states that on your orders he will be ready to start a forceable evacuation of the cities and move all your general populace into working for the state agricultural industry.
Choice 3:
Your cabinet suggests that you respond to the UN report with surprise but to reply in the usual 'we shall look into this matter and consult later'.
Choice 4:
Your cabinet advises you to uni-laterally comply with everything that the UN wants.
Choice 5:
Dismiss.
Won't tell ya what they do to your ratings...as it would make the choices pointless!

Good, add in random names, don't use 'The Cabinet' all the time, and don't have a choice 5, it's implemented automatically at the bottom of each issue.
