Issue idea. Feel free to offer suggestions, especially on spelling/grammar and a new name (but anything is useful).

Name: Telemarketers Get on @@NAME@@'s Nerves

Description: A recent rise in the number of complaints about telemarketers has lead to the formation of the Citizens Against Phone Salesmen. The group has begun calling for a ban on telemarketing.

Validity: Nation must have at least a decent level of economy/economic freedom.

Options:
[choice]"These people are a nuisance!" yells CAPS founder @@RANDOMNAME@@ from behind a podium at a recent rally. "They need to be banned from calling us to peddle their wares. Besides, who ever buys things from a telemarketer?"
[effect]telemarketers have been outlawed
[stats]It's a secret

[choice]"Being a telemarketer is a perfectly acceptable job choice," says the head of a large telemarketers association, @@RANDOMNAME@@. "What these protestors need to realize is that these people need work and companies need the business they provide. To put regulations on them is unthinkable."
[effect]citizens are regularly woken up in the middle of the night by telemarketers
[stats]Shh!

[choice]"Let's face facts, they can be annoying," says your Minister of Commerce, @@RANDOMNAME@@, "but that isn't a reason to ban them all together. Let's just put some restrictions on them. Like who they can call, and when they can call them."
[effect]new regulations on telemarketing are passed monthly

Name: Telemarketers Get on National Nerves
How about "Telemarketers Get on @NAME@'s Nerves"?

Description: Nation-wide complaints about telemarketers have lead to the formation of the Citizens Against Phone Salesmen, who have begun calling for a ban on telemarketing.

Validity: Nation must have at least level of ecoomy/economic freedom.
Heh?!?
IOW, needs spelling/grammar/wossname correction(s). ;)

Options:
[choice]"These people are a nusiance!" yells CAPS founder @@RANDOMNAME@@ from on top of a card-board box at a recent rally. "They need to be banned from calling us to peddle their wares. Besides, who ever buys things from a telemarketer?"
[effect]telemarketers haev been outlawed
[stats]It's a secret
A cardboard box? It'll stop providing much elevation real soon. :D
stats: economy decreases slightly, people become more relaxed/friendly

[choice]"Being a telemarketer is a perfecctly acceptable job choice," says the head of a large telemarketers union, @@RANDOMNAME@@. "What these protestors need to realize is that these people need work and companies need the bussiness they provide. To put regulations on them is unthinkable."
[effect]citizens are regularly woken up in the middle of the night by telemarketers
[stats]Shh!
Only one "c" in perfectly. Telemarketers, being companies, wouldn't have a union; "association" would be better.
stats: economy improves slightly, people are much angrier

[choice]"Lets face facts, they can be annoying," says your minister of commerce, @@RANDOMNAME@@, "but that isn't a reason to ban them all together. Lets just put some restrictions on them. Like who they can call, and when they can call them."
[effect]new regulations on telemarketing are passed monthly
[stats]¤_¤
Let's, not Lets. Minister of Commerce should be capitalized.
stats: People slightly more relaxed, taxes up (to pay for enforcing such complicated regulations), rights slightly down.

Good point ...

Only one "c" in perfectly. Telemarketers, being companies, wouldn't have a union; "association" would be better.

Changed

You might add an option for evil nations that's super extreme, like executing anyone caught selling products over the telephone....
