Burn Baby, Burn!

The Issue
A protest about the nation’s foreign policy outside the capital building of @@NAME@@ got out of hand and while a crowd gathered around to watch, some demonstrators pulled out the nations flag and burned it in front of astonished onlookers.

The Debate

1. “Well I don’t see what the big deal is here” says bystander @@RANDOMNAME@@. “I mean, if these long-haired hippies wanna burn our flag, they obviously don’t want to be here. Just deport them and lets get on with our lives”
civil rights go down, country becomes more patriotic

2. “That’s not harsh enough, dammit!” shouts General @@RANDOMNAME@@. “Give them a couple years in the armed forces and let them learn the values of patriotism and stuff like that. Hopefully they’ll go fight some war and die anyway, so it’s a win-win situation”
military population goes up, but the economy decreases slightly (since there’s less people in the country’s labor pool. Also, in the long run, defection rates among the military soar.

3. Reverend @@RANDOMNAME@@ has a more sensible solution. “Look, I love this country just as much as the next guy, and as much as it pains me to see our flag burning, we have to let the protesters do this. I mean, what kind of country would we be if we started suppressing people’s rights?”
political freedoms go up a notch
