Population Boom Sparks Debate

Due to the recent large increase of babies in @@NAME@@, some researchers are worried that resources might become strained for the next generation.

The Debate:

1. Demographist @@RANDOMNAME@@ has come up with a mild solution. 'We can give tax refunds and set up education programs to encourage parents to give birth to only one child. This takes time, but the results will show in the end.'

EFFECT:
Civil Rights decrease a little; Economy decreases a little.

2. Socialist extremist @@RANDOMNAME@@ suggests a more radical solution. 'Look here, the nation's interests should always come first! If we don't get rid of the extra population fast, the nation's economy will go down the drain. I say we imprison and heavily fine parents who give birth to more than one baby and give the baby to childless couples.'

Civil Rights decrease by a lot; Economy improves a lot; if possible, population decreases by 5 million.

one couple, one kid is actually a loosing proposition. in about forty years you end up with a radical population drop, when the two parents of the one kid die.

but as a forth option

solicalist @@randomname@@ suggests, an increase in programs encouraging women to have careers outside the home. it is a well known fact families with working women are smaller.
effect: economy improves, increased spending in education.

That is not a socialist response, consider replacing it with "authoritarian", "conservative extremist" or something similar.

A socialist response would be more along the lines of increasing awareness of family planning/contraceptives etc, increase funding for healthcare and education at expense of economy.

Hmm. . .
I don't see why civil rights and economy decrease(I'd expect economy and compassion to increase) on the first one, but it is a good concept overall.

Of course in NS bigger is better, so I doubt that many people would choose the second option though.
