Threadjack and spam

I propose that Neo Art's and Poli's OFF TOPIC posts be removed and put where they belong: In the currently existing Star Trek thread. Posts in question are here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14803394&postcount=36), here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14803389&postcount=34), and here. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14803377&postcount=31)

EDIT: Another one here. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14803402&postcount=39)

Actually, if we're going to go into the history of it, then let's, shall we? I made a post directly on point, and directly discussing TAI's original post. That is right here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14803338&postcount=27).

TAI responded to this post with, and I quote, "I honestly didn't even finish reading that. Thank you for not contributing (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14803365&postcount=30). "

Now, it seems to me, that if a poster creates a thread, and by the second page of that thread, directly tells participants in that thread, that he is deliberately ignoring their posts, refusing to respond, and making the direct and explicit effort to not continue the discussion of his own thread, then I consider that thread abandoned.

You can 'consider it' all you want, that does not make you the ultimate arbiter, nor does it give you a free pass to threadjack. For that matter, the entire post was filled with a mixture of flaming, flamebaiting, and your normal "It won't change me, so I don't give a shit about your little thread' that you tend to pull out, quite often, in fact. But hey, don't let reality get in the way of your ego. Just keep going.

Your perception of the thread, wether it is abandoned or not, does not give you the right to suddenly turn it into a discussion of Star Trek.

Guys, can we cool our jets just a little bit? We're in moderation for Pete's sake.

Although, if we're going to report rules violations in that thread...let's start...oh I dunno...here:

Neo Art's reply contributed nothing. NA's post held no content relating to the actual thread, the whole post was whining about how TAI's post wasn't going to change his opinion. because, of course, everything must relate to Neo Art, and if it doesn't, it doesn't matter.

Personal attacks in moderation, huh? That's....um...not a terribly good idea, but if you WANT to get yelled at, I suppose it's your call.

For my part, I don't exactly consider one off-topic comment specifically for the purpose of highlighting the OP's choice to ignore on-topic comments to be much in the way of threadjacking or spam, but I'll happily remove my one single "offending" post if an actual mod suggests I should.

I'll take whatever punishment the moderators see fit, but I'm tired of Neo Art's flaming, baiting, and thread jacking.

Right. Because if we're counting that as a flame, we might as well trot out what amounts to your entire post history. Shall we?

One off-topic comment? You mean as in:
Although since TAI seems to care so little for the responses he gets in his own thread, it's fairly obvious that this space can have better uses. So, who's seen the new star trek movie?
Calling himself the master of thread and thus declaring a thread jack.
So, Star Trek, opinions?
Another attempted continuation of the thread jack.
I haven't seen it either, but the thing is, all my geek cred friends already have, leaving me to see it with my other friends, who don't know star trek. I'm a little concerned that, for them, watching the movie, even though it's a prequel, might not be as much fun for them as they don't understand the universe. I mean, from my understanding, because it's a prequel, you could strip out the references to the show, call Kirk "Steve", Bones "Jimmy Bo Bob Brain" and Scottie "Welshie" (......WEEEEELLLLSHIIIIEEEEE!) and the story would be pretty good.

But I dunno, is there a level to it that someone who is not a fan will miss? Are they just not going to get all they can out of it?
And another continuation. It wasn't just 'one'.

And as I said, I'll take whatever punishment the moderators see fit without complaint. I know I deserve it at this point.

Um, CM, this may come as a shock to you, but NA and I are in fact separate entities. When I use the word "my," it means "belonging to me," not "belonging to other people."

My apologies, I took this quote:

As meaning the Star Trek thread jack in general, not your specific posts. My apologies.

What you all deserve, at this point, is a bucket of ice-water splashed over you. CUT IT OUT.

Same goes for the thread. Neo Art, Poliwannacraca, abandon the Star Trek meme. It was OK as an argument in your first responses, but after that it was silly.

Further attempts to turn Moderation into General will be met with proportionate response. You're here to argue or defend your case, not to further extend a petty squabble.
