NationStates Jolt Archive

a good question...

Unrelated question, but on the topic of DCD and just out of interest - would he be allowed to make an account, and post in the new beta forums? Since they are a new and distinct forums which DCD has never posted or had an infraction from, and because they have slightly different non jolt rules?

a really good question...

will poster history carry over to the new forum?

will people DOS here be given a chance on the new forum?

does this forum make my butt look big?

Well, it's the same game, same players and same rules....

People would like to kind of forget and/or ignore that DCD was DOSed because of multiple infractions over two years, and that the one that triggered the deletion was a repeat performance of the "rape and sodomize your family by AIDs patients" that he had been previously told not to repeat -- so it was NOT a Jolt rule, it was a Nationstates rule that he fell foul of.

No Kat...not you. Please tell me it was just a slip of the finger that led to AIDs instead of AIDS...

on an actually related note, I'm just curious how much of poster history will transfer...I was under the impression that there was some difficulty getting posession of posts made on Jolt forums...does this also mean that whatever tally system you guys use is not tied? I understand that it is the same game, same rules, etc...I was just wondering if certain posters who had less than stellar reputations might be able to worm in in some way, or posters currently here who may be on shorter leashes might somehow be given slightly longer leashes?

Forum accounts are still tied to nation accounts. People that have had their nations deleted will still be deleted. People that are DOSed are still DOSed. Post counts will not carry over, it's a different forum entirely. Everything else personal like signatures and such you need to carry. It's not as though the moderators have changed or will suddenly, magically forget everything that happened on Jolt.

I'll note everyone who hasn't switched is losing ground quickly in the post count over there. :p

Think of it as either a memory game (oh, wait... should you be on my ignore list?) or the opportunity to give people another chance. ;)

It's okay...just one month left. Just keep telling yourself that.

ETA: And another shot for all the mods for what seems to have been two days of insanity here on the mod forum. And a big thanks for putting up with all of us.

Fifteen classroom days for me, thanks -- we've a vacation day Monday (Memorial Day), a vacation day June 4th (Anniversary Day, yay!) a full week, and then a week of exams.

And then Kat can get to work fixing up her apartment. ;)

*thanks Sarkhaan, next round's on me*

Insanity? You think that was insanity? Why, I remember when ... hey, my glass is empty!

(Glasses are always full on the other forum. And there's real velvet on the barstools. Classy.)

If it helps, Kat, since Japan's school year runs from April to March, I've just started and summer break (all 3 weeks of it) doesn't hit until late July.
