Drunk Commies was banned for less

Sure, Michael Savage isn't a poster here, but discussing raping him to death, torturing his family etc, all in great detail....seems beyond the pale.

Edit: snipped post, sorry for quoting it.

1- Not about a poster here.
2- An example written to make a point about the exact talk Savage keeps spouting.
3- I'd done other examples of other people and never got so much as a warning. In fact, one with Dr. Laura showed me that, no, I'd not get banned or even warned for that.
4- To drive this rather important point home: Not about a poster here.
5- As for the "screw him" part, no one ever got banned for saying even worse things about public figures before. I really don't think it should start with me, because I never got a heads-up that it suddenly became against the rules.
6- Public figures and their families are fair game.

1. Drunk Commies wasn't wishing AIDS rape on persons who post here either. DC, like you, had a long history of making such off-colour remarks.
2. Sure.
3. Perhaps they weren't brought to moderation attention...do you really want to be the one doing that?

You were never given a carte blanche to wish specific and detailed torture/death on public figures.

In any case, mod discretion was used there, let's see how it's used here.

The "screw him" part was a colorful way to say "screw him".

The other example, I added the word "example" in the very beginning to prevent EXACTLY the Moderation argument I'm having with you right now. Geez.

Furthermore, not that it matters, but this wasn't about, say, Gandhi or Britney Spears. This was about Michael Savage, the man who insults liberals and calls us child-molesters for a living. Even if it were about Gandhi, it might be acceptable (though it might be seen as trolling), but this is, I repeat, about Michael Savage. Britain wants to keep the man out for a reason.

Your post kinda does go over the PG13 in my oppinion. But a Mod would have to make a ruling on that to be certain.

Again, I refer you to the jurisprudence I linked.

Perhaps we should all wait for a Moderator ruling instead of bickering over the same points ad nauseam.

Just to hammer home a point: I never saw this kind of thing moderated before, and linked two instances in which it actively was not. So, it would stand to reason to assume that it's not a moddable thing.

Neesika is right. DCD did get deleted for less. However, in fairness, it would be comparing apples and oranges; we have two distinct posters with their own distinct reputations. It is no secret that Heikoku2 has had numerous run in with the mods. H2 was previously informed s/he was on thin ice. Seems the warning didn't sink in; s/he has also 13 previous infractions.

This falls under 'Obscene Imagery and Explicit Content' in my opinion.

Addressed (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=14796472&posted=1#post14796472).

Unrelated question, but on the topic of DCD and just out of interest - would he be allowed to make an account, and post in the new beta forums? Since they are a new and distinct forums which DCD has never posted or had an infraction from, and because they have slightly different non jolt rules?

Sort of a moot point, since we haven't heard from him in a while :(

Gloating in Moderation?

I thought he was joking myself.

From what I've seen on the forums recently, I'll take TAI's comment as joking, not gloating. It has seemed to me that TAI and Heikoku have been treating each other less seriously lately, with reduced confrontations.

If it does mean more Pinochet threads, of course, mods can just link back to that post and yell, "Gotcha!" So it would be a pretty fruitless gloat.

Whilst you're here, Ard, if Heikoku's had a nation deleted, 13 infraction's and now this, how come in my most recent infraction message you warned I'd be DEATed if I did something wrong again? Because I've had less infractions than him, and mine generally consist of "Fuck you, wanker" etc, rather than describing in horrific detail the rape and torture of a man who disagrees with me, as well as his family?

What I said was Kindly take this [24-hour ban] to heart, because there are even fewer names left than when you last had to choose.

A gentle reminder of what happened last time you failed to take advice to heart, I would have thought, rather than a warning of immediate DEAT next time you transgress. Obviously, if you were to continue on a course of throwing random over-the-top insults into threads, that's where it would end up. But surely, this time, you'll take the advice?

I was never given advice last time. The deletion took me completely by surprise, and even assuming I had uploaded that avatar a 3rd time I only had a couple of yellows and a red.

Obviously, if you were to continue on a course of throwing random over-the-top insults into threads, that's where it would end up.

I really don't think calling HK a judgmental piece of shit is over the top or random.

But surely, thistime, you'll take the advice?

Point taken.

Judgmental = not over the top. Judgmental piece of shit = over the top.

At least that's my non-mod view.

That may be your opinion but it doesn't excuse you from following the rules. Further, it is over the top and inflammatory.
