Is it hot in here...

... Or is just this thread?

In case you don't already have a close eye on it (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=593268), it would seem arguing over whether or not HK is a troll has taken over. Not that I'm innocent in this matter...:$ But I thought it might be of some interest.

Calling me a he/she is a personal insult.

That's another personal insult. You're suggesting I'm a tranny. I can suggest that you are all kind of things, but I'm too polite to post them.

I think HK is going out if his/her way to get offended, whilst going out of his/her way to be offensive.

This is far more offensive than anything HK said in that thread: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14794161&postcount=235

Either way, it's getting hot.

Report them all. Let the MODS sort them out.

This thread confuses me. I read it, and while the words appear to be in English, the thought train has derailed, gone through the woods, and chased Leslie Nielsen way past the point of ridiculousness. It doesn't even make logical sense in any way...

And that's against the rules or what?

Sometimes it's called spam.

Sometimes it's called spam.

If this is spam, then everything is spam. Which is maybe the case

Quite possible. I'm just weighing in on how the thread makes me feel: very confused.

Locked the damn thing. Possibly more later, depending.

EDIT: Having now read through most of it, I think that the existence and content of that thread explains why swearing is sometimes permissible, maybe even needed, on NS.

I'm not going to go through it infraction by infraction. All the people concerned know better, and had better pull their heads in. The one by NNLDI was well beyond the pale, and has earned him a 24-hour ban.

Hairless Kitten, please note: "s/he" is not an insult, it's a convenient abbreviation. Nor did anyone call you a holocaust denier. Do not add either of these to your list of complaints about NS. Doing so will be regarded as trolling.

NSG, please note: for a time, a few years back, mods banned any quote alterations (eg, of the sort often accompanied by "fixed"). ANY quote alterations. No funny ones. No using them to show the holes in an argument. Nothing. If you want that ban reinstated, continue misusing the trick. It will cramp several posters' style and rob us of the occasional funny. Pity, but them's the breaks.

Kudos to Conserative Morality and Hydesland for observing the "don't quote idiocies and give them any more currency" rule. A link really is all that's needed.
