So. I just logged into NationStates, and I found a telegram in my inbox. It was the lovely moderators! However, unfortunately, it wasn't a friendly "Oh hello there sir, how do you do?" but apparently a warning for flaming. Naturally, I was a bit put off, since I hadn't been on in two days or so, so I browsed around all the threads in moderation for a complaint about a post of mine. Alas, I found none.

So, I dunno who warned me, but whichever mod gave me the warning, would you mind, please, showing me what I'm being warned for? Thanks.

Says here you were flaming on your RMB.

*checks*

So you were. Don't flame other players on your RMB. Mods are players too.

The mod you flamed wasn't involved.

EDIT: Considering the number of times we see players flaming or otherwise breaking rules on RMBs, it's worth emphasising this general point: RMBs are part of NS and posts on them are covered by NS rules. The fact that RMBs are sometimes less accessible than the forums should make players more careful, not less.

Friendly chit-chat between region mates, fine; clearly IC exchanges, fine; abuse, no.

I am guessing Region Message Board - though Rødovre Mighty Bulls the Danish Ice hockey team would be more colourful.

Well, I'll be sure to keep insults to TGs and IRC, then. Although, I'm curious as to why it took 11 days for anything to happen. Hmm...

Ah well. One official warning in six years of play isn't too bad of a record. ;)

TBH, it might be safer to just NOT insult anyone. TG's can also be reported to the mods. ;)

I mean when talking about people, not to them. :P Obviously, flaming someone in a TG is, if anything, more reportable than on the RMB. I was merely talking to someone about Scolopendra, not flaming Scolo directly.

'Tho IRC is always Mod-Free. ;)
